Hand-coloured woodcut portrait. Small red ink stain to 2Tv and 2T3, water-stain to upper corners of title-A8, otherwise inside pages are in very good condition. Contemporary blind-stamped pigsking over wooden boards, remains of metal clasps, split to head of spine, edges a little worn, rubbed. [Not in Adams]. Zurich, Christopher Froschauer, 1568. Provenance: ink ownership inscription of Joannes Christophorus, ? archprefect of Elbingen, dated 1716, to front pastedown. Modern booksellers pencil note "From the Fugger Library". VERY RARE!
