Title: Album de la Revolucion 1952-1959
Description: Havana, Cuba, Revista Cineagrafico, S.A. 1960, 1st Edition. Printed Wrapper. Graphic Novels, 1960 1st edition. An original album of Communist propaganda directed at Cuban children to reinforce the party line while the victory was still fresh. Designed for children, the comic album is a blow by blow retelling of Fidel Castro's guerrilla war with the Batista government from 1952-1959. Each scene from the revolution is pictured on a trading card given away with Felices canned fruits. Castro is the hero in the forefront [inspired by Jose Marti's Cuban independence movement in the 1800s,with Marti's image in the sky], is flanked by his brother Raul and of course Che. Each page is illustrated with guns, grenades, Cuban flags, and tanks. The cards picture backroom dealing by Batista, the suffering & sacrifice of the Cuban people, battle scenes, and the brave guerrillas fighting for Cuba's future. Very Good.
