Or.cloth (Pedro de Alva y Astorga, franciscan monk, was an indefatigable advocate for the Virgin Mary. He used such strong language in his books, especially against the Dominicans, that some of his works found their way to the Index. Pedro de Alva sought refuge in the Spanish Netherlands, where he set up his own press, solely for publishing his Marian titles, the Typographia Immaculatae Conceptionis. This was closed already in 1667 by royal order, due to pressure of the dominicans) - The authors, papal bullae etc. cited are for the greater part medieval.
