The best known of his tales include Le Petit Chaperon Rouge (Little Red Riding Hood), Cendrillon ("Cinderella"), Le Maître chat ou le Chat botté (Puss in Boots), La Belle au bois dormant (Sleeping Beauty), and Barbe Bleue ("Bluebeard"). Gumuchian 1838 refers to an imperfect copy with just 47 illustrations on thirty leaves including the title. "Les feuilles de garde d'enfants sont portées disparues. Titre légèrement déchiré. une légère saleté" - "The childcare sheets are missing. Slightly torn title. some slight dirt." Gumuchian 4443 refers to the second volume only with twenty leaves containing four more tales: Riquet à la houpe; Le Petit poucet; Le chaperon rouge; & Barbe blue. .
