Description: Korekushon ã“ã‚Oeãã—ょん [Collection] [68 magazine issues] Gallery Gohachi ギャラリーå¾å-«, publisher Tokyo Showa 33-59 [1958-1984] 68 staple-bound magazines approx 17 x 14.5cm of the post war Korekushon ã“ã‚Oeãã—ょん [Collection] magazine. We are offering 68 issues published from 1958 (starting with Issue 2 /#66) -1984 (ending with 89/#148). We have Issues 2-3, 10-45, 47, 51-67, 69-73, 77-89. (Missing are Issues 4-9, 46, 48-50, 68, 74-76). Each is a small, collectible artist's magazine and trade catalog that showcases artist books published by Gohachi Gallery - some of the covers feature original printed (some tipped in) artwork in color or b+w. The internal pages differ from issue to issue, but may include the following: folded washi [Japanese paper] sheets that are open at the top and printed with essays on an artists in Japanese text; a glossy sales insert folded to approx 13.7 x 13.7cm that has reproduced photos of artwork (some tipped in) as well as text about the work; pages printed on glossy white paper that serve as the publisher's catalog / price sheet with reproduced images of books, Japanese text and a small colophon. The inside covers usually have a tipped-in book print or reproduced photo with text on the artist. A number of issues have a subscription receipt 15 x 10.5cm addressed to a Mr. Tanaka Kazuo 田中一男; others have folded laid-in sheets advertising books, as well as postcards approx 14 x 10.2cm for Gohachi gallery shows in Tokyo. Korekushon was produced by the important fine print and book dealer Gohachi å¾å-« in its later incarnation as Gallery Gohachi ギャラリーå¾å-«, whose support and publication of book artists, especially those artists of the post-War period such as Kawakami ShirÅ å·ä¸Šå››éƒŽ (1889â€1983), Kawakami Sumio å·ä¸Šæ¾„生 (1895-1972), Takei Takeo 武井武雄 (1894-1983) and Serizawa Keisuke 芹沢銈介 (1895-1984), enabled a whole generation of Sosakau Hanga 創ä½oe版画 and Mingei 民芸 artists to reach publication.
