This edition bound in paper wrappers. A remarkable compendium, heavily illustrated in color and b+w, exploring the whole world of commercial art, in Japan and abroad, for the professional. With remarkable articles by the leading proponents of Japanese advertising and commercial art of the day. One occasionally finds odd volumes of this thematically organized work, but it is very unusual thus, complete. Essential reference to late Taisho, early Showa culture. All but volume 7 have their original printed card slipcases. Also, the set seems to have belonged to a very literate reader. 15 of the 24 volumes have their original advance monthly "geppo" advertisements for the series laid in. Plus there are three ARS publishing company sale catalogs for books, an ARS monthly newsletter, an ARS order form, and one from Kawara Shoten. All quite interesting as they are contemporary advertisements for ARS, the foremost art critical publisher of the day. The set is a bit worn, but overall in good or better condition, with lots of additional material, as described. .
