Ex-library; only a bookplate to front pastedown and no other marks. Binding is sound but sunned at spine, with shallow loss at crown, and soiled on lower board. Light foxing to frontisp. and t.p. The final text leaf has a short, closed tear at the fore-edge. Overall, a very good copy. Dayton was convicted of helping slaves escape to Washington, D.C. (Sabin 20912). .
