Title: The Story of Tongdaeng, Cartoon Version: Biography of a Pet Dog.
Description: Bangkok Amarin Printing and Publishing Public Company, 2004. Reprint ed. Paperback large octavo, very good condition, colour cartoons, corner tips front cover little creased. 172 pp. In 2002 His Majesty the Thai King wrote the book "Tongdaeng" which was the story of an intelligent and devoted dog. This was a very popular book which had the English version printed alongside the Thai version. For this version, Chai Rachawat illustrated the King's story. To enhance comprehension, Mr Chaiwent (the cartoonist) added more pictures, including the Chitralada Villa, Dusit Palace and Klaikangvol Palace in Huahin. The colourful cartoons were very lively, giving an illustration of movement. There is additional information about Tongdaeng and other dogs raised by the King. This very special book will help raise awareness about Thai stray dogs and if given the right home with plenty of love and kindness, they will give back what they are given. The cartoons will bring a smile to many faces. ISBN: 9742729174
