The focus is on the best-known deposits at that date (1959): Koolan Island and Cockatoo Island (West Kimberley Goldfield), and Koolyanobbing (Yilgarn Goldfield, near Southern Cross). The huge limonite-hematitie-magnetite deposits of the Pilbara south of Port Hedland (Hamersley) are mentioned in the preliminary note but not in the main text, as they had not yet been explored in any detail, presumably.
