The 31 single-sided pages contain 16 colour plates interleaved with poetic text. The illustrator was the uncle of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was a lifetime believer in fairies. Allingham was an Irish poet associated with the pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. (One of a set of 35 handsome facsimiles in 28 slipcases.).
