Pieces have been excised from the top corners of the half- title & title in Vols. 2 and 3. There is very light dampstaining to the margins of the pages in the rear half of Vol. 3. Sepia-toned & black-and- white full-page & textual illustrations. 1 tipped-in color plate in Vol. 1 & several portrait plates in Vol. 2. Ex-library with labels removed from the spines, a library bookplate on each front pastedown, a stamp on the bottom edges & "withdrawn" stamps on the front endpapers & titles. A good, tight set. Good .
