Tight book in red cloth with bright gilt titles and decoration; staining to rear board (only) Clean bright yellow endpapers; unmarked but for small nameplate to inside front board. All gilt edges. 40 full-page engravings. The actual engravings are In near fine condition but circular water marks encroach from the borders. (Oddly, only the engraving pages have the watermarks - all of the other pages are untouched. Some light spotting to preliminaries and occasional pages. All of the engravings themselves are brilliant and clear. Frontispiece is of the Prince of Wales. ; 11 x 16"; Engraved on steel, under the direction of D. J. Pound. With memoirs by the most able authors.1860. Volume 1: Appears to be the third series with 40 engravings (the first being Charles Louis Napoleon Bonaparte). The second volume appears to be the fourth series with 26 engravings subtitled July - December.. Very Good with No dust jacket as issued .
