Title: Park and Recreational Scenes / Winnipeg / Canada
Description: Winnipeg, MB, City of Winnipeg, 1949. 1st edition. Wraps. Oblong 8vo. A promotional publication extolling the city's wonderful parks and recreational facilities. Many interesting photographs, plus four very nice full colour reproductions of watercolour scenes painted by famed Canadian artist (and former Winnipeg resident) W. J. Phillips. The photos are reproduced on glossy stock; the paintings on stiffer card stock. In addition, the cover is a scene of the Pavillion in Assiniboine Park, also painted by Phillips. Not in Peel. The card edges of this little booklet are chipped, curled and a bit soiled. The image on the front cover is lightly soiled, although the four reproductions inside are in lovely condition. Overall, the covers are in fair condition; the contents in excellent condition. Scarce item - only the University of Alberta shows a copy in its holdings. Ill.: W. J. Phillips. Unpaginated, measuring approximately 16 x 21 cms. with black-and-white photos interspersed with watercolour scenes.
