Title: Lays of the Scottish Cavaliers and Other Poems
Description: Edinburgh and London, William Blackwood and Sons, 1866. pp. 359.12mo. Finely bound in full crimson morocco with marbled foredges,The boards are double ruled in gilt with florets in the corners. The spine is in compartments, blocked in gilt, with a morocco spine label. The binding is signed 'J. B. Hawes, Cambridge'. The contents are exceptionally bright and quite unmarked. There is a small abrasion near the base of the spine, and the board edges show a trace of rubbing. There is small, one inch, black mark to the rear board, and some very light general scuffing to the boards. The hinges and joints are tight. Overall, in very good condition, and most handsome in appearance. This is the eighteenth edition, bound as a prize binding with crests embossed in gilt on the front and rear boards.
