Description: Philadelphia, E. Haskell. 1854. Hardcover, 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Book, This is the third volume only of the earlier 3-volume set from 1854. Bound in green embossed boards. The binding is sound, though the page paper shows some toning and signs of brittleness. A corner tear missing from front endpaper, about an inch; a tasteful prev. owner bookplate to obverse. Includes the nice engraved frontispiece of Paine, with tissue guard paper, and engraved title page of the series. At rear the last three page leaves and endpaper have a tear missing at lower margin, just affecting text a little, one inch at its worst. One signature at midpoint looks to have been repaired from a loosened state, with a small margin tear to upper binding edge, only 8 pages. Spine tips of cover show moderate wear. Otherwise in pretty solid state and presentable if you're trying to complete a set of three. Photos available upon request. Fair/No Jacket.
