One of the most popular and best-selling Victorian travel writters was Lady Annie Brassey (1839-1887), who circumnavigated the globe with her wealthy husband, Thomas Brassey, in his schooner, the Sunbeam, and recorded the journey in A voyage in the Sunbeam, first published in 1878, frequently reprinted, and translated into five languages.
