In this book he records the events leading up to the partition of India & creation of Pakistan and details the tragedy of the migrations & massacres in the Punjab which followed & were unparalleled in world history during a time of peace. In the space of three or four months thousands were killed or died of privation, including Hindus, Muslims & Sikhs, and millions were compelled to abandon forever their ancestral homes and to start life afresh in new surroundings.
