Hardback, 160mm x 253mm tall (6.5" x 10" approx.). Pp 136pp + 10 plates, with a total of 82 illustrations. Neat signatures of three previous owners to the front free endpaper, and the engraved heraldic bookplate of James Charles Herbert Crosland, motto 'Ultra Pergere', to the front pastedown. [Crosland's signature appears also in the upper blank margins of the Title and Index leaves.] Minor rubs to cloth edges and corners and some light foxing to prelims, otherwise very good, in the original blind-ruled, maroon cloth-covered boards/gilt titles.
