Pp xv, 346 plus a tissue-guarded frontispiece colour plate "The Peak of Teneriffe". Original binding of gilt & blind-decorated cloth/gilt spine title/all edges gilt with, to the front board, the embossed gilt prize logo of Mr. Hunter's School, Edinburgh and, to the front pastedown, an attractive engraved Prize label awarding the volume in July 1861 to Miss Sarah G.P. Hay of J.P. Class, 1st Division, for writing and dictation. Very light rubs to cloth, and the discreet embossed stamp impression of Keele University to the lower blank margin of the title-leaf. Otherwise very good. Very Good/Later loose protective Jacket.
