Light brown calf; covers decorated with a single gold fillet and blind roll border, with the arms in gilt of the East India College on front and rear covers; gold-tooled spines (rebacked and original spine covering put back); marbled endpapers; oval stamp of the Royal Society of Edinburgh on title-page of vol. 1 and on front flyleaves of all 3 volumes. Front cover of the plates volume sunned; a few plates have very minor, unobtrusive spotting.
