Description: London: Printed for T. M'Lean, 1819. 4 vols. Vol. 1: lxxxviii, 376p. Coloured aquatint frontispiece + 5 coloured aquatints within text. Vol. 2: vii, [1], 403p. Coloured aquatint frontispiece + 4 coloured aquatints within text (apparently wanting one aquatint). Vol. 3: xvi, 370p. Coloured aquatint frontispiece + 5 coloured aquatints within text. Vol. 4: viii, 440p. Coloured aquatint frontispiece + 5 coloured aquatints within text. The plates are after drawings by the Scottish aquatint engraver and painter John Heaviside Clark. Contemporary grey millboards with blue paste paper spine coverings and printed spine labels; considerable at corners, edges, and at head and foot of spines (with small piece missing at top of spine covering of volume 1). Deckle edges. Joint ownership inscriptions on front pastedown of each volume: 'John Beauchamp St. John, Matilda Louisa St. John 1827'. J.R.
