Description: Lisboa: Sim‹o Thaddeo Ferreira, 1804. 12mo. 584, [3]p. 7 plates, all unsigned except the first which is signed "Le Roy" (the 'Avertencia aos livreiros' on the penultimate page inadvertently lists 8 plates due to duplication of plate no. 4). Fine Portuguese binding: red morocco, with elaborate gilt tooling in an 18th-century style - all edges gilt; together with original fitted morocco pull-off case, finely tooled in gilt in a different design and lined with marbled paper. All in excellent state of preservation. A rare Portuguese liturgy for Holy Week by a Franciscan bishop of Coimbra, whose major works include Historia biblica (1778) and Flos sanctorum abbreviado (1778). Cf.
