Marbled block edges and end-papers. Plate on inside front cover reads "This work belongs to the Balmoral Lending Library Established by Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince Consort in 1859. For the Use of The Tenants, Servants and Cottages." There is a gilt circled "471" at the top of the spine presumably this was the volume number in that collection. Part of watermark is discernible on the bookplate which reads "A Pirie &" "1884". Binding is sound, light foxing to prelims, pages and black and white frontis are clean. 278 pages.
