Two volumes bound together in dark red half-leather and marked reddith brown marked covers. Gilt lettering on spine states Vol. I (only). Does not contain the Index nor the last twenty-odd pages of what was printed in Volume II. Volume I was published in parts (1-14) between 1872 and 1874. Blockow died in 1874 The never completed Volume II was published in further parts 15-19 in 1877. The author died in 1900. Sound binding, clean cream pages and clean plates.
