Last page is a little soiled and has a half-inch tear near the gutter. Two gift inscriptions on the front endpaper. Overall very good. The author of "Walter at the Sea-side, Mary Greg wrote a series of natural history themed books for young people. This work treats the southern forest of England, New Forest. The story describes the environs and inhabitants of this forest, primarily its trees, in a romantic and appealing fashion. Oaks, birches, elms, chestnuts, lime, conifers, plane trees, alders and "graveyard trees" notably the Cypress, and the mighty sequoia of California are featured in the tale. An enchanting and educational piece. Very good + .
