Henry Ware, Jr. (April 21, 1794 - September 22, 1843) was an influential Unitarian theologian, early member of the faculty of Harvard Divinity School, and first president of the Harvard Musical Association. He was a mentor of Ralph Waldo Emerson when Emerson studied for the ministry in the 1820s. This set was a gift to William S. Wetmore, his bookplate is in each volume and he has signed the title page of each volume. William Shepard Wetmore (January 26, 1801 - June 16, 1862) was an Old China Trade merchant and philanthropist from New England. a bit of wear to spine extremities else clean, tight and very good .
