Roosevelt, Theodore - A Typed Letter, Unsigned, with a Holograph Addition

Title: A Typed Letter, Unsigned, with a Holograph Addition
Description: New York, 1916. On Oyster Bay, Long Island, N. Y. stationery; One page, approx. 7.5" x 5.5"; The former President regrettably declines an invitation to dinner in honor of the Premier of Canada, Sir Robert Laird Borden and his wife. The event was held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on April 1. 1916. There is one holograph additon to this piece, "Mr." appears just before TR's name in the first line. We are confident that this is in TR's hand and can provide comparable examples. He would often make manuscript additions to typed letters. This letter is nicely framed with a engraved portrait of TR from the U. S. Bureau of Engraving. Very good .
