Title: Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. Brigadier General, United States Army, Beyond the Call of Duty
Description: San Francisco, Dorothy and Frank Shields, 1947. Limited Edition, 1/153 copies, No. 167. Hardcover. Quarto; Unpaginated; suede ribbon tied half leather and tan boards in a slipcase; Illustrated; Addional replacement label laid in for the slipcase; "done into type by hand and privately printed"; untrimmed edges. Memorial book for TR Jr. who received the Medal of Honor for his activities on Utah Beach on D-Day, and who died subsequently of heart failure. Contains "Fair Enough" by Westbrook Pegler, a wonderful character sketch of TR Jr. The testamonials recounting TR Jr's actions under fire are remarkable, how he survived the day is a mystery. He had to fight the higher command to be allowed to be with his men on the beach that day, eventually he won out. Presentation card from Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt Jr. Very scarce. Very good .
