Description: London, Chapman & Hall. 1885, First Edition. Hard Cover, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Michael Davitt 1846 - 1906 Irish republican and agrarian campaigner who founded the Irish National Land League. He campaigned for Home Rule and was a close ally of Charles Stuart Parnell, the leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party, until the party split over Parnell's divorce and Davitt joined the anti-Parnellite Irish National Federation. Irish republican and agrarian agitator who founded the Irish National Land League. He was also a labour leader, Home Rule politician and Member of Parliament. Written while serving 15 years imprisonment at Dartmoor for terrorism this was published on his release in 1885. CONDITION Green bds with Gilt spine title (worn cloth to spine ends and tips, damp stains) pp xvi 352 with frontis illus of Author in his prison cell with tissue guard. Internally copy is bright and crisp, name stamp of William Parnell to half title, another ownership stamp to pastedown and ffep, faxed near ends, some cnrs folded and odd mark internally. Good/No Jacket.
