WARRANT. SCHNETTE & EVERLY VS. CANAL BOAT SEA LION.
"The State of Ohio, Lockington, Shelby Co. S. S. to Charles Adams, Marshall of Said Village and County, Greeting: We command you to seize the Canal Boat, Sea Lion, or Watter Craft navigating the watters within the State of Ohio...."Boat to be seized for non-payment of the sum due to Schnelte & Everly of $31.75 "for material furnished, and labor performed, & taking care of the Boat." Document is dated Aug. 17, 1891 and signed by the mayor of Lockington, Jacob Everly - no doubt of the firm Schelte and Everly. Blindstamped with "Mayor's Seal, Village of Lockington." Note on back by Chas. Adams, Marshall that he served this warrant "on the within named water craft Sea Lion...." Handwritten document, 12 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches.
