A rare collection of examples of the handiwork of local printers in small communities, some embossed and some with pictorial images. Towns in Illinois include Rockford, Harvard, Woodstock, and Winnebago. Town in Wisconsin include Beloit, Delavan, Darien and Evansville. Sponsors of the parties, balls and dances include the Winnebago Engine Company, the Rockford City Greys, Military and Fireman's Festival, the Sax Horn Band, the Catholic Church of Delavan, Beliot Fire Department, Darien Soldiers' Relief Society, the Young Bachelors Terpsichorean Association, et al. A few printers' imprints at bottom of invitations: Union Print, Woodstock; Register Press, Rockford; Standard Print (Rockford). Condition varies from good to fine.
