Mammoth-plate sepia view of lumber camp in the Northwest.
Reminiscent of Darius Kinsey. Probably Washington, Idaho, or Montana, ca. 1880s - '90s. 19 x 24 inches. Flush mounted. Minor edge wear, 2" long crack at top in sky area, a few creases & tiny abrasions, else a very good print with excellent detail & contrast. Lumber camp of simple frame houses around mill, raised boardwalk between them; workers standing in open shed; boy sitting on large stump in foreground among other stumps & branches, outhouse on left; lumber piled behind houses; misty pine forest in background. Fine exhibition piece.
