A member of the Royal Society he was elected president but declined the honor, and is remembered for the law named after him of volume vs pressure of gases. Investigation and experiments were to be the way of science and he was not fond of hypothesis until proof was found. This collection of the many papers and experiments he wrote up are here brought up to date with later findings to produce the best compilation of his work and this is the first edition thus. Dr Peter Shaw was a London based physician who was appointed physician extraordinary to King George II in 1753. All Vol`s printed in London.
