Occasional foxing but clean and complete for 1853 with first 3 issues for 1854. *Fifteen issues from the final two years of this entertaining periodical, founded in 1841 to "assist mothers in the difficult and peculiarly responsible work of governing and educating their children .. It will suplly a desideratum, in the periodical literature of New England, which has long been seen and deeply lamented" (J. Porter, Boston, Jan 14, 1841).
