Engraved titlepage +[18pp] +128pp +[6pp contents for second part] +98pp +[34pp Ephemeris]. Lacks last blank. Two bookplates on the pastedown else very neat, clean & crisp, a handsome copy. Some pages of calendar calculations printed in red & black, some with folded extensions. Texts of both works in Latin, with passages in Hebrew and Arabic. *Selden although notable for his legal books was also a formidable antiquary and this is his study of the Jewish calendar and festivals. Ussher's greatest work was on calculating the date of the beginning of the world. This is his study of the astronomy and calendar of the Macedonian Greeks and Asians.
