The Hassall plates are vibrant and lively. *Note on last page: "All the illustrations of 'Good Queen Bess' have been designed by Mr. John Hassall, R.I. The accompanying text has been written by Miss Brenda Girvin. The colour printing has been carried out by Messrs. W. Griggs & Sons. The binding has been executed by Messrs. Leighton, Son, & Hodge".
