Pencil ownership on frontis back "Miss Bedenham Jany 1st 1853 born February 4th" (? Mary Ann Bedenham 1840-1913). Contains moral articles (eg. The Railway of Life) poems, Bible stories, biography of Isaac Newton, bees brought to Van Dieman's land, American Indians, missionaries, slavery etc.
