Printed form affixed to front pastedown (Oregon Legislature -Twentieth Session - "Senate Joint Resolution No. 5, (Introduced by Mr. Hazeltine by request and adopted). This Resolution decreed that up to 1000 copies of this book be "used and given away by said grand commander to pioneers and veterans of the Indian wars, who have had the largest experience in the early history of Oregon and who pledge beforehand to him to write out and correct all errors and supply omissions, etc..". Previous owner's signature ("B.F. Wells, Manila, P.I. P.O. Dept. 1901) in pencil, to front pastedown. Covers Cayuse War, Rogue River Wars, and The Yakima War. A good, solid copy of an increasingly scarce and important historical resource in Western Americana. VERY GOOD PLUS .
