Bukowski, Charles - Barfly : Official Film Press Kit

Title: Barfly : Official Film Press Kit
Description: Los Angeles, Cannon Films, Inc, 1987. Paperback. Official press kit from Barbet Schroeder's film adaptation of Charles Bukowski's original (some might argue) autobiographical screenplay, issued by Cannon Films, and starring Mickey Rourke, Faye Dunaway and others. Bukowski himself describes his screenplay as "an account of several nights in my life, long ago, 93 per cent of which really happened. I became a barfly because I didn't like what I saw in the 9 to 5. I didn't want to become an ordinary working person, paying off the mortgage, looking at TV. I was terrified. The bar was a hiding plae to get out of the mainstream."This version of the kit includes: 1) A 16 in. x 16 in. 4-fold glossy brochure (8 in. x 8 in. folded, with a photo of Bukowski, Rourke and Dunaway on the front), "Conversation with Charles Bukowski", promotional notes about the film, the director, and the cast, along with thirteen photos, both from the film and about its creation. 2) A single-stapled photocopied or offset information booklet consisting of 44 pages, 8 1/2 in. x 11 in. printed on one side of the paper only, beginning with "A Letter From a Fan" (Charles Bukowski); and largely comprised of extensive information about the film company, stars,, director, other cast members editor, photographer, executive producers, writer, etc. 3) 10 full-size glossy still photographs from the film, stored in white top-loading paper jacket with computer-generated/daisy-wheel-printed"Barfly" sticky label on outside of jacket. All are stored in a double-pocketed, official, Cannon Films cardstock folder lettered in gilt and blue. Sunning, minor creasing, corner bumping, and several small edge tears to this exterior folder, which has done a creditable job of protecting all of the above contents. Very Good .
