Full calf, rubbed, hinges cracking, with gilt Coat of Arms of 'The Society of Writers to the Signet' with their small withdrawal stamp and original manuscript accession details. Many books from the famous Signet Library in Edinburgh were sold by Sotheby's in 1979. DNB: Davy was Professor of Chemistry at the Royal Institution & demonstrated the existence of potassium, sodium, chlorine & others, as well as inventing the safety lamp. Very Good.
